Courte biographie
Jacques Dupin (1927-2012) était un poète et critique d'art français. Sa poésie, complexe et terrestre, était admirée par René Char. La vie de Dupin était indissociable de l'École de Paris d'après-guerre, en tant qu'écrivain principal et directeur des publications de la Galerie Maeght. Il fut le chroniqueur et un ami proche de Joan Miró, dont il rédigea le catalogue raisonné. Il a également écrit d'importantes monographies sur Giacometti et Tàpies, et fut le pivot de la revue de Maeght 'L'Éphémère'.

En tant que poète à la Galerie Maeght, Dupin était le partenaire idéal pour les 'livres d'artiste'. Sa propre poésie fut illustrée par les artistes sur lesquels il écrivait, notamment Miró ('L'Issue dérobée') et Tàpies. Ces livres, imprimés par Maeght (Mourlot, Arte), sont de parfaits exemples de la bibliophilie d'après-guerre, où les eaux-fortes et lithographies des artistes dialoguent avec sa poésie dense.
