Kiesler, Frederick J. est né le 3 mai 1890 à Czernowitz, Autriche-Hongrie. Son œuvre couvre l'architecture, la scénographie, la sculpture et la peinture. Il était étroitement lié à l'avant-garde européenne, notamment De Stijl et le Surréalisme. Après s'être installé aux États-Unis, il est devenu une figure influente à New York, célèbre pour sa 'Maison sans fin' (Endless House) et ses contributions théoriques sur le 'corrélisme'. Ses conceptions d'expositions, comme l'Exposition Internationale du Surréalisme à Paris en 1947, ont souligné sa relation avec les Surréalistes. Son héritage réside dans l'intégration de toutes les formes d'art dans un environnement holistique.
