Courte biographie
La Galerie Simon a été fondée en 1914 à Paris, France, par Daniel-Henry Kahnweiler, succédant à sa Galerie Kahnweiler (1907-1914). La galerie fut l'un des lieux les plus importants pour le mouvement Cubiste. Kahnweiler était le marchand exclusif d'artistes majeurs comme Picasso, Braque, Gris et Léger. Il a joué un rôle crucial dans la reconnaissance du Cubisme précoce en exposant et vendant leurs œuvres. La galerie, rebaptisée Galerie Louise Leiris en 1941, a continué à promouvoir l'avant-garde et l'art moderne.
