Courte biographie
Gherasim Luca est né le 23 juillet 1913 à Bucarest, en Roumanie. Figure majeure du surréalisme roumain, il s’installa à Paris après la Seconde Guerre mondiale, où il poursuivit ses expérimentations radicales sur le langage. Sa poésie et ses écrits théoriques, marqués par une extrême exigence formelle et par une attention particulière au corps et à la langue, font de lui l’une des figures les plus influentes de l’avant-garde surréaliste d’après-guerre.

Sa poésie fut souvent publiée sous forme d’éditions bibliophiliques, parfois accompagnées de contributions graphiques d’artistes surréalistes, notamment Max Ernst et Victor Brauner.
