Short Biography
Pierre-André Benoit (P.A.B.) (1921-1993) was a French poet, artist, and publisher based in Alès. Starting in 1942, he began publishing poetry and 'livres d'artiste'. He is famous for his unique, often minuscule and extremely minimalist book-objects. He collaborated with the greatest artists of his time, including Pablo Picasso, Georges Braque, Joan Miró, Hans Arp, and Max Ernst, and poets like René Char. He often printed the books himself on a small hand press in very limited editions.
