Jean-Louis Bédouin (1929-1996) was a French writer, poet, and ethnographer. He was one of André Breton's most faithful followers and a central figure in the post-war Surrealist group in Paris. He actively participated in the group's activities, publications (such as 'Médium'), and exhibitions. Bédouin is also very important as a historian and chronicler of the movement; he wrote standard works like 'Vingt ans de surréalisme: 1939-1959' and a biography of André Breton. His work helped to disseminate and document the ideas of Surrealism for later generations.
