Ganzo, Robert was born on August 22, 1898, in Casablanca, Morocco. He studied in Paris and became a prominent figure in post-war French poetry. Although not an official member, his work shows Surrealist influences, characterized by a fascination with the unconscious, dreams, and a very personal mythology. He collaborated with many visual artists. His poetry is appreciated for its rhythm and its ability to explore the boundary between the visible and the invisible. His legacy is that of an independent modernist.
