Short Biography
Ilia Zdanevich, better known as Iliazd, was born on April 21, 1894, in Tbilisi (then Russian Empire). He was a pioneer of Russian Futurism and Dada in Georgia. Settling in Paris from 1921, he became one of the most radical and innovative creators of the 'livre d'artiste'. His publications, characterized by bold typographical experiments and the use of unconventional fonts and formats, were a fundamental contribution to the avant-garde aesthetic of the book.
