Kállai, Ernő was born on September 9, 1890, in Magyarkanizsa, Austria-Hungary. He was an influential critic and theorist who wrote about abstract and Constructivist art. He taught at the Bauhaus in Weimar and was an ardent advocate of avant-garde aesthetics.
