Kamensky, Vasily was born on April 17, 1884, in Perm, Russia. He was one of the most radical members of Russian Futurism. He was an early aviation pioneer and used the energy of modern life in his poetry and art. He was the author of the first 'ferro-concrete' poems, introducing new materials and typographical layout into poetry. His work was crucial to the early avant-garde in Russia and his experiments influenced later Dada and Surrealist typography.
