Lorca, Federico García was born on June 5, 1898, in Fuente Vaqueros, Spain. He was a poet and playwright who led the Spanish literary and artistic avant-garde (Generation of '27). He spent time in New York and was influenced by Surrealism. His work is characterized by a deep poetic lyricism, a fascination with death, and a critique of social conventions, which makes him a key figure in the broader Surrealist and modern tradition. His tragic death in 1936 made him a martyr of modern art.
